One taken to hospital following water rescue on Halfmoon Lake

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- One person was taken to the hospital after being rescued from an area lake Saturday morning.

It happened on Halfmoon Lake in Eau Claire. Early Saturday morning the Eau Claire Fire Department was dispatched for a water rescue on the lake.

Two engines, one truck, one boat, one medic unit and special rescue responded.

Upon arrival, one victim was observed bobbing up and down in the water yelling for help. The Eau Claire Fire Department immediately began ice/water rescue operations.

The victim was safely and swiftly removed from the water and transported to a local hospital.
