The Wisconsin Badgers are not dancing in the tournament anymore, but Bucky was in Eau Claire on Sunday, doing a different kind of dancing at Azura Memory Care.

86-year-old Dolly Bauer has always dreamed of dancing with Bucky Badger and now that dream has become a reality. “I didn't know she could dance anymore so that was pretty exciting,” said Ted Bauer, Dolly’s son.

Even while battling dementia, she was up on her feet giving it the old college try. "She's got fight in her, I will tell you that,” said daughter, Amy Bauer- Rohrscheib.

But through it all, Dolly has always enjoyed watching sports "High school games, she was what you call a rabid fan I think, she was very boisterous,” Ted said. And she especially loved her Wisconsin Badgers. "She knew the game so she could tell the refs when they were wrong and sometimes right,” Ted added.

Dolly took many trips down to Madison to watch her daughter, Amy play for the badgers. "They were very supportive to me in my college days when I was playing and my dad is not here anymore, it was a big deal for the whole family,” Amy said.

Now, her family is supporting dolly for her big dance with Bucky. "To see her feet start to go was priceless because she hasn't done that for a long time,” Amy added. The majority of her 7 children, 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren were all there to help celebrate. "She's been here a while, good days and bad days and today is a really good day for her,” Ted said.
