Santa visits with area pets to benefit local humane association

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A photo-op with Santa wasn't just for the kids this Saturday; it was all about the pets!

Santa stopped by Petco in Eau Claire for special family photos where pets of all kinds were welcome.

Saturday afternoon Santa visited with mostly dogs, but in the past, Santa has taken photos ferrets, iguanas, snakes and he even met a pet alligator one year! All photos sold benefit the buffalo county humane association.

"It means a lot to us that people give to the stray animals, give back, and it's nice to have pictures of your pets with Santa to remember them by," says Cindy Krett, with the Buffalo County Humane Association. "Some are scared and Santa and some just love him, they just can't get enough of Santa!"

If you don't have a fur-baby yet, several of BCHA's adoptable cats and kittens were at Petco Saturday and will back for another pet pictures event with Santa event next Saturday Dec. 14.
