Search scheduled for missing veteran and UW-Stout student

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A public search for missing 28-year-old James Bernard Liedtka is scheduled to take place on March 23. Liedtka was was last seen on November 3 on Water Street in Eau Claire before losing contact with friends.

Now family and friends are still searching for answers and have organized a public search. According to a Facebook post on the 'Bring James Liedka Home' page, volunteers are asked to meet at the American Legion Unit 53 on Water Street in Eau Claire.

Volunteers are asked to arrive between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. to check in where they will be assigned a group and search area. Organizers ask searchers to bring warm and bright colored clothes, walking shoes, water and binoculars.

The search will last from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 23 but volunteers do not need to stay the entire day.
