EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- We bring week three of our Golden Apple Award presentations to a close with a stop at Northstar Middle School. The recipient of the Golden Apple in many respects is the face of Northstar, part of the school family for 20 years.
"Hey everyone, please join me in congratulating Miss Lynn Christianson our Golden Apple Award winner for 2019!"
Northstar Principal Tim Skutley making the day of school secretary Lynn Christianson. Lynn has spent the past decade welcoming students and visitors to Northstar. Christianson says she enjoys being someone the kids can count on.
"My favorite part of the job is getting to know the students in the office when they come in and I have a different relationship with students then maybe the teachers do because when they are sent down for any reason, we are the ones that kind of take them under our wing and start all over, yeah, the students are the heart of this building," said Christianson.
"Yep, everyone knows Lynn and she's going to be that you meet when you go to the office and you need a little extra help, or not feeling well, etc... The way that Lynn does her job, she's kind of the 'Mom' of the school, she looks out for you and the day may not be going as planned, she plays a lot of roles for us," said Skutley.
Along with her Golden Apple Award, Christianson and Northstar Middle School will receive a $1,000 grant from the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation.
