Sheriff: Body found near Chetek, hypothermia believed to be cause of death

CHETEK, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators have found a body in a wooded area outside Chetek, and they believe the man died from hypothermia.

Barron County Sheriff’s deputies were following up on a missing person case on Wednesday when they discovered the body of Joseph Moen, 49 of Chetek. According to Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald, the initial cause of death appears to be hypothermia, but an autopsy is being conducted.

No foul play is suspected at this time.
