South Dakota man facing charges after sex sting arrest in Altoona

A South Dakota man is charged in Eau Claire County Court after trying to meet what he thought was a 14 year-old girl for sex.

Alex Bawek, 28, is facing three counts, including "use of a computer to facilitate a sex crime." According to the criminal complaint, a detective with the Altoona Police Department posed as the girl and responded to a Craiglist as posed by Bawek.

The complaint says the two emailed back and forth, with Bawek asking the girl to send photos and suggested they engage in sexual acts.

Bawek was arrested by Altoona Police when he showed up at the location he arranged to meet who he thought was the 14 year-old girl.
