Student brought 'unloaded weapons' to Durand School

DURAND, Wis. (RELEASE) -- On Thursday, December 6th the Durand Middle/High School Principal was notified by a student that a different student was in possession of guns on school property.

Upon hearing of the report, the administration worked with the School Resource Officer and Durand Police Department on searching the locker of the student. During the search, administration recovered two unloaded weapons.

The student was immediately detained and questioned. The student had no intent to cause harm at the school and did not have any ammunition at school. The student has been referred to Pepin County Human Services.
