Three people hurt in Barron County rear-end collision

BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- Three people are hurt after a crash in Barron County.

According to the Barron County Sheriff's Department, it happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 13 on Highway 8, east of Almena.

An initial investigation shows a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Mary Ann Desilvio of Almena was stopped on Hwy 8 and waiting to turn into her driveway when she was rear-ended by a truck.

The truck was driven by 30-year-old Travis Peterson of Turtle Lake.

Deputies say Mary Ann Desilvio was extracted from the car and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

A passenger in the car, 53-year-old Donald Desilvio, was also extracted and flown from the scene in critical condition.

Travis Peterson was taken by private vehicle to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 8 was closed for about three hours after the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
