Traffic was diverted after part of a road collapsed into a sinkhole in Portage Tuesday.
Assistant Police Chief Keith Klafke told NBC15 News that a water main break under the road likely caused the sinkhole.
For several hours both lanes of East Slifer Street were being diverted. The water main break and the road have since been fixed, according to Columbia County Dispatch.
Traffic in both lanes have resumed as normal.
No structural repairs will be necessary, Dispatch tells NBC15.
