UPDATE: Body found in La Crosse now identified

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Police have identified the body found on the south side of La Crosse on Thursday.

La Crosse Police say the body belonged to Juan Gonzalez Mejia, 24.

Gonzalez Mejia was last seen leaving his work on January 24, and was reported missing on January 28.

Gonzalez Mejia's body was found in the backyard of a home on the 1600 block of Johnson Street, just before 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say, at this point, foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for next week.
