EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A proposed veteran tribute is part of Monday night’s public discussion for the Eau Claire City Council.

The park's design of the trail and amenities, along with the site plan are set to be put before council members.

This is to be located north of Madison Street and west of Forest Street.
In November, the Eau Claire County Board approved money to go towards the veteran park - a projected to cost an estimated $1.2 million.

"It's been a long time coming because we've had this in the process - some of us, four to five years were been involved in that's. So, having it coming to this final end - at least, in the approval process with the city and the county - is a really big success,” said Angela Deutschlander, Eau Claire Veterans Tribute Foundation.

The city council is expected to vote on the park items at its meeting on Tuesday. The project is planned to start sometime this year, with completion scheduled for 2022.
