UW-Extension hosts 9th Annual Hops Conference

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- UW-Extension hosted their 9th Annual Hop Conference at Lazy Monks Brewing this morning where experts provided educational and research data and information regarding hop production and storage management.

Agriculture agent Jerry Clark says they brought the event to Eau Claire today to give growers in this area more information on growing hops.

“We usually average between 50-70 growers or those that are interested,” says Clark. “They're either experienced growers or those that are novice or looking to get into growing hops.”

Clark says that hops are an older crop that used to be grown in Wisconsin and have made a comeback in the last ten years as the craft brewing industry is expanding.
