EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Tuesday morning, SkyWarn 13 Meteorologist Monica Ott read to a group of toddlers and their parents at the L.E. Phillip's Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.

It is part of the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley's "Read to Me" book month.

There will be 12 events hosted throughout the area all aimed at promoting the importance of early literacy.

This year's feature book is "The Snowy Day" by Ezra Jack Keats. Each family got to take home a copy of the book along with activities to compliment the book and a box of crayons.

Wednesday morning, SkyWarn 13 Chief Meteorologist Darren Maier read to a group of children at the Altoona Public Library.
