Walker: Expanding broadband key to economic success
Gov. Scott Walker says expanding access to broadband internet is key to economic development.
The governor made the remarks while at Chippewa River Industries, in Chippewa Falls Tuesday morning.
He was there to talk about a broadband internet project that connects two local business parks. Last December, the state awarded Chippewa County a grant for more than $286,000 to help fund the project.
"It's a big part of looking at both keeping businesses here, as well as attracting new ones, helping those here grow, and making a case to others to come here to the Chippewa Valley," said Walker.
Walker's visit is a part of the Cabinet on the Road tour, where state officials are visiting communities across western Wisconsin.
