Gov. Scott Walker says employment rates are at an all-time high and that Wisconsin ranks in the top ten nationwide for manufacturing jobs.

Walker made the remarks while touring the Donaldson Company on Tuesday in Baldwin. He says the manufacturing industry has experienced big job growth.

With that growth, comes the need to ensure there are quality employees for businesses to hire.

"It's a renewed emphasis in our schools, dual enrollment, starting out as early as 6th grade for academic career plans,” he said to members of the media in attendance. “Doing more to invest in youth apprenticeships and overall apprenticeships, and to do more when it comes to investing in WITC and Chippewa Valley, and our other technical colleges along the way.

"We're committed to doing that, it's part of the reason why we're here today."

Walker also talked to Donaldson employees and leadership to learn how they can keep moving the state's economy forward.
