Wisconsin Attorney General announces more school safety grants

MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Thursday, Attorney General Brad Schmiel announced 47 more schools and school districts will receive safety grants.

To date, 652 schools have been approved to receive more than $45.7 million in school safety grant funding.

Altoona School District was awarded $54,500. Grant dollars are meant to improve safety including door locks and hardening school entryways. Schools can still apply for the second round of grant funding by Aug. 13.
