Youth group donates capes and blankets to hospital patients

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Its the season of giving and a youth group is helping patients at a local hospital. A girls group from Augusta called "Be You" donated Superhero capes and blankets to patients at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital Thursday afternoon.

The group handmade over a dozen blankets and two dozen capes for kids at the hospital. The organization says the project taught the girls that giving back to the community can be fun.

"A lot of the girls remembered their experiences when they were little and had to go to the doctor and they were chilly and they were frighted and we just thought it would be a cool idea and a real welcoming idea for little toddlers to have something to cuddle up in and feel comforted," said Patrica Price of "Be You".

This is the group's first year doing this project and they plan to continue.
