MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) - The Osseo-Fairchild boys basketball team came up just short in their WIAA division 4 state tournament semifinal, losing to Oshkosh Lourdes 70-68. The Thunder fell behind early, trailing 39-26 with 2:45 before halftime. Osseo-Fairchild responded with a 16-0 run that stretched into the 2nd half and saw the Thunder take a 41-39 lead. The teams traded buckets down the stretch and were tied at 68 when Hayden Jones hit the go-ahead lay-up with 1.5 seconds to play. Osseo-Fairchild had one last look at the buzzer, but Logan Mulhern's shot bounced off the front of the rim.

Mulhern capped off his high school career with a performance for the ages, leading all players with 33 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists in the game. Cory Myhers added 12 points, with Caden Boettcher and Ryan Myhers scoring nine points. Osseo-Fairchild finishes the season with a 24-3 record and reached the program's first state tournament since 1992. Oshkosh Lourdes will advance to Saturday's D4 title game against New Glarus.
