MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WEAU) -- SportScene 13’s Justus Cleveland and Neil Hebert are at Miller Park with coverage from NLCS Game 7.
Brewers fans, and just baseball fans in general have to appreciate this Milwaukee Brewers postseason run. They’re just one game from the World Series, a spot they haven’t been in since that 1982 season.
36 years later, it’s nervous excitement: that’s how Craig Counsell described the feel inside the Brewers’ clubhouse before Game 7 of the NLCS.
“I mean I think I'm excited to get the game started,” Counsell said. “I think everybody, if you would take a poll of the players, they would have chosen to have a 1:00 a.m. start, a little break, and then start the game again.
But that's the good part about it, you get to think about it for a little bit, that's part of it. And everybody's excited and wants to get started. It's always, in my experience, there's some calm in the clubhouse before days like this. It's a little more calm because you know there's a storm outside. And it's going to be pretty cool when you get out there and it's going to be packed full of emotion.”
We’re closing in on game time and you can just feel it in the air. Intensity. This game has the makings of an MLB classic. Jhoulys Chacin and Walker Buehler taking the mound.
