Olympian Ben Loomis picks up a pair of top four finishes at Jr. Worlds

KANDERSTEG, Switzerland (WEAU) In his final tune-up before heading to the Winter Olympics, Ben Loomis finished third in the 10k and fourth in the 5K in the Nordic Combined event at the Junior World Ski Championships.

The 10-kilometer event took place on Tuesday, with Loomis finishing seventh in the ski Jumping competition with 130 points. He made up ground in the Nordic ski race finishing in a time of 22:28.6 and was the top American finisher.

On Saturday, it was a similar story as he once again finished seventh in the jumping with 119.9 points, but was the fastest in the Nordic race finishing at 11:07.3 to move up to fourth overall.

Loomis will be competing at the Olympics in Pyeongchang later this month and is an Eau Claire Native.
