GREEN BAY, Wis. (WEAU) -- A former Packers tight end has died.

The team's website announced Friday that Mitchell Henry, 24, died Friday morning. He battled leukemia for seven months. Henry signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2015. As a rookie, he did not make the Packers' opening day roster. Denver claimed him on waivers, but released him after two games. He then returned to the Packers' practice squad. He broke his hand during training camp in 2016. The team placed him on injured reserve and then released him.

General Manager Ted Thompson said in a statement that Henry "quickly became a beloved member of our family and made a terrific impression on everyone in our organization."
