CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- Another local athlete signed to play football at the next level this afternoon: McDonell's Noah Weimert will play football at Vermillion Community College next year.

Weimert, a senior offensive and defensive lineman for the Macks, was part of the group to help bring football back to McDonell. Weimert was invited to play in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Eight-Man All-Star football game on July 20th at UW-Oshkosh. He'll be a part of a 20-man roster from the North team.

Weimert is excited to be able to play at the next level.

"It's something I dreamed of for a long time,” Weimert said. “I never really thought that it would actually happen. Now I'm here and it's a dream come true. I'm super excited for what it's got for me. Offensive line mostly. It's definitely nice not having to play both sides of the ball non-stop, getting a little break in there. Being able to focus on one thing, being able to get really good at one thing, instead of playing 6-7 positions at a time. I'm definitely looking forward to that."
