Regis loses to Lake Country Lutheran in State title match

After recording comeback wins in their sectional final and state semifinal contests, Regis came up one rally short as they fell to Lake Country Lutheran 3-1 in the WIAA Division Three State Volleyball Championship.

The Ramblers would set the tone of the first set, as they battled to the 25-23 win. But after that Lake Country Lutheran would take over, winning the second set 25-12 and taking the final two sets 25-17 and 25-19.

Regis was led in kills by Sam Bergum with and assists by Grace Gilles with 22.

Lake Country Lutheran was led by Iowa State recruit Brooke Anderson who had 26 kills.

The Ramblers were making their second trip to state in the past three years and third in the past five seasons. They won the title in 2013 and were state runner-up this season and in 2015.
