Thunder, Crickets prepare for third meeting in D4 Sectionals

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - When the Division 4 boys basketball Sectional Semifinals tip-off Thursday night in Altoona it will mark the third and final meeting of the season between Cloverbelt West foes Fall creek and Osseo-Fairchild.

The Thunder swept the Crickets in the regular season winning the previous two matchups by an average of 18 points. Osseo-Fairchild finds themselves in unfamiliar territory though after reaching the sectionals for just the first time since 2014. Only Fall Creek senior guard Joey Kinderman has played on this stage before, back in 2016.

While it's a new experience for both sides this game could very well come down to how effective two-time Western Cloverbelt Player of the Year Logan Mulhern can be for the Thunder. Osseo-Fairchild's senior leader averaged 24 points against Fall Creek this season.
