Eau Claire Saw Blades and Hockey League Future in Doubt

The future of the Eau Claire Saw Blades and the Wisconsin Junior Hockey League is in serious doubt.

Franchise Director Scott Schwendeman was scheduled to be in Eau Claire Thursday evening to pay Hobbs Ice Center Manager Stu Taylor the $9,000 owed for September and October rent. Saw Blades Head Coach Todd Holmes and some of his players were there hoping that Schwendeman would bring the payment. Schwendeman did not show up, leaving Holmes and his players fearing the worst, that the Wisconsin Junior Hockey League is in trouble.
