A 28-year-old man was charged Friday with murdering his mother with an axe as she slept in her Oconomowoc home.
A criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County today says Mark Totzke called 911 early Thursday, and told a dispatcher he had just killed his mother with an axe.
Responding officers found 59-year-old Gloria Totzke dead in her bed.
The complaint says the son told officer he killed his mother because she was in the CIA. He went on to explain that he too, was in the CIA and killing her was inevitable.
The complaint says Totzke told officers he had planned for the past several years to kill his mother and on a recent drive from Seattle to her house, decided he would use an ax.
Gloria Totzke was a teacher at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield.
Police say it's the first homicide in the city of Oconomowoc in at least 30 years.
The son is charged with first-degree intentional homicide.
