35-year-old Sick After Plunging

It wasn't the cold that caused one Wausau polar plunger to go to the hospital but a foot injury.

Scott Parsons, 35, developed a staph infection after jumping into the Wisconsin River for last month's polar plunge in Wausau.

Parsons spent a week in the hospital after he was infected with bacteria that can cause potentially life-threatening infections.

Parsons got a cut on his left foot after hitting a rock and got an infection that spread up his leg.

Parsons remains on bed rest and antibiotics.
