Barn a total loss after fire

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU)-- A barn is a total loss after it caught fire early Thursday morning.

Township Firefighters were called to the fire in the Town of Clear Creek, near Foster, around 3:10 a.m.

Flames were coming from the barn when crews got there. They were able to contain the fire to one end but the roof of the barn collapsed from the damage. The barn is a total loss due to smoke damage. No cattle were in the barn and it was not being used at the time.

Township units were assisted also by Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department and Fire Departments from Rock Creek, Eleva and Strum.

All Units were able to leave the scene shortly after 7am. The exact cause is still under investigation.
