Deer crashes through window at hotel in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – You hear of car vs. deer crashes all the time, especially in Wisconsin, but what about window vs. deer?

The bizarre incident unfolded Saturday evening at the Clarion Hotel and Green Mill in Eau Claire.

A small buck, spotted by a passerby, charged through the window of a meeting room. The general manager Eric Hoium said he went to go investigate and saw shattered glass everywhere and a clearly disoriented deer running around inside.

Animal control was called in and when the blinds were open, the buck jumped out and ran across the street.
“It was running around in circles and not very happy about being in there,” said Hoium “It’s pretty crazy I’ve never seen anything like that in my life.”

Police said it didn’t stop there. The young buck then went across the road and broke through another window at a home on West Hamilton Avenue.

He was last seen heading towards the woods.
