Eau Claire bar owner pleads guilty to filing false tax returns

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- The owner of the Pickle bar in Eau Claire has pleaded guilty to filing false tax returns.

36-year-old Jared Jerome Hart made the plea in federal court Tuesday.
An indictment claims Hart reported earnings that were less than what the bar made in 2008 through 2011. It also claims Hart changed transaction amounts to avoid filing reports with the U.S. Treasury for cash transactions more than $10,000.

Hart will be sentenced November 4th. He faces a maximum penalty of three years in federal prison, and will have to pay restitution.
