FALL CREEK, Wis. (WEAU)- A group of area teens got the chance to show off a project that's taken teamwork and months of hard work to complete.

For the past nine months, a group of young adults have been hard at work building a home from the ground up in Fall Creek as part of Western Dairyland's Fresh Start Program.

Thursday they held an open house to show off the completed project.

The program provides education and employment skills for at-risk teens and young adults as they help construct a new home.

"It gives me a sense of accomplishment because I'm doing something for the community instead of going down the path I was going down. It's awesome to be on the right track," Anna Jean Mayville, a participant in the Fresh Start program said.

"I would love to open up my own construction company and through this program this showed me what I like to do is build," participant Keith Ottum said.

After the open house, the home will be sold to a family that meets income guidelines.
