EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A craft brewery in Eau Claire opened a new, German-style beer hall to a select group Thursday night.

Lazy Monk Brewing celebrated its new location downtown with its Mug Club members.

The brewery bought the old Charlson's Building on Madison Street in Eau Claire last May, and has been in the process of renovating it ever since.

The owners said they needed to move from their Putnam Street location in order to keep up with the growing demand for their product.

"Really it was size, we needed to move the brewery, we needed a larger tap room, and when this building became available we just knew this was going to be the place for us," said Lazy Monk Brewing Owner Theresa Frank.

Lazy Monk Brewing opens its doors to all patrons on January 8th at 3 p.m.
