Man gets 6 months jail time for sledge hammer attack

(WEAU) - A man accused of hitting another man in the head with a sledge hammer will serve 6 months in jail.

Brandon Chandler, 32, was sentenced Friday in Jackson County Court. Police say in September of 2010, Chandler got in a fight with another man and Alexander Hanson got in the middle of the fight.

That's when chandler hit Hanson in the head with the hammer. Hanson suffered a skull fracture.

Chandler pleaded no contest 2nd degree reckless injury in August.
