ELK MOUND, Wis. (WEAU) -- A benefit fund has been set up for the victims of a fire this week.

The fund for the Paula Gunderson family is at Independence State Bank in Elk Mound. The bank says checks should be made payable to "Independence State Bank" and should have the word "donation" written in the memo line. They can be sent to this address:

Independence State Bank
P.O. Box 325
Elk Mound, WI 54739

The Elk Mound branch of the bank is the only one accepting donations for the fund.

The house fire happened early Tuesday morning on University Street in Elk Mound. Firefighters say an adult and seven children had escaped the two-story house when they got there. The flames were contained to the basement of the home. A couple of the children were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. The fire reignited later.
