NEW INFORMATION: Name released of suspect in officer-involved shooting in Boyceville

BOYCEVILLE, Wis. (WEAU)-- We now know the name of the woman shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting in Boyceville.

The Boyceville Police Department has identified the woman as 33-year-old Shonda Mikelson.

Police say around nine Friday night, they got a report of a man and a woman fighting. When an officer arrived at the home, they say Mikelson came to the door with a rifle in her right hand. The officer told her to drop the gun, but police say she refused, and then brought her left hand from behind her back revealing a handgun that she pointed at the officer. That's when the officer fired a round at Mikelson, killing her.

Police say they later found out the handgun she used was a replica.
The officer is now on administrative leave, which is department policy.
