NEILSVILLE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The community of Neillsville finished one of their biggest events of the summer.

The 21st Annual Neillsville Heritage Days finished up their festive weekend with a chicken dinner made by the American Legion. Fest-goers could also buy crafts and goodies throughout Schuster Park in Neillsville and listen to some live music. Joe Neville, a co-chair on the Heritage Days Committee, says the event had over 1,000 attendees.

“We try to put a city-wide event on free of charge," Neville said. "For kids, we have inflatables. We brought in two bands this weekend. All we wanted to do was put on a free event for our community and for others to come see our community.”
