New disc golf course opens in Menomonie

MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) The rapidly growing sport of disc golf, or as some like to call it "frolfing," got a brand new course Tuesday afternoon in Menomonie.

The Mayo Health System Golf Course had its grand opening Tuesday night at Menomonie Middle School.

It's an 18 hole course, that even has scorecards.

Beginners got a free lesson from a local disc golf business owner and the members of the UW-Stout disc golf team.

Organizers say the idea to build the course all started with a college student.

The course is open to the public and is free for everyone.

The one rule is, if the middle school is using the course, they have first priority.
