EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An effort to turn a downtown Eau Claire bridge into a night attraction is moving forward.

For the past several months, Downtown Eau Claire Inc., The Rotary, and UW- Eau Claire have been working together on a plan to put light installations on the Phoenix Park bridge.

Wednesday the Eau Claire Waterways and Parks Commission unanimously approved their proposal.

The $300,000 project would be the first of its kind in the area, and organizers hope it will bring more people downtown.

The full Eau Claire City Council is set to vote on the measure on May 10th.
