Police investigating armed robbery in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (RELEASE FROM LA CROSSE POLICE)-- The La Crosse Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Clark Station, 2308 Rose St in the City of La Crosse today.

La Crosse Police were called at 2:52PM by the clerk/owner of the Clark Station whom reported a robbery. The clerk reported a white male suspect had entered the store and came up to the counter to purchase an item. The suspect then came towards the clerk, pushing him away from the cash register and grabbed money that was out behind the counter. The suspect then fled the store on foot.

Witnesses outside observed the suspect fleeing from the store and observed him throw an item under a dumpster and run off on foot. Officers recovered a weapon at the scene. The clerk/owner was not injured in this robbery and there was one other customer in the store at the time.
La Crosse Police officers arrived on scene in less than 2 minutes, secured the scene while other officers began searching for the suspect, checking on other businesses and reviewing security cameras in the area. We have obtained store security video of the suspect and we are looking for help from the public in identifying the suspect in this crime.

Suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’7” and thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black stocking cap, sunglasses, dark colored pants and black shoes with white stripes.
