"Prom Trauma" gives students a taste of reality

By  |

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) Eau Claire North High School students got a dose of reality Thursday.

A "prom trauma" simulation took place at the school, teaching students the dangers of drinking and driving.

The students got to hear from police, a chaplain, a funeral director, and health providers about what really happens when a drunk driving accident happens.

The Mayo Clinic Health System has been sponsoring the program for 15 years.

The hospital says no fatal car accidents involving prom students who were drunk have occurred in the area.
