EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A new restaurant is almost ready to open its doors in Eau Claire.

Monk's Bar and Grill held a ribbon cutting for its new location this afternoon.

The space used to be home to Northwoods Brew Pub, which closed late last year.

Crews have spent the last five months renovating the building for the new restaurant.

Those with Monk's say they're excited to serve the Eau Claire community.

"It's just one of those things. I think to see this, it's just really, it's a great feeling for me and just being able to kick this off", says Ryan Poppenga, owner of Monk's Bar and Grill. "I'm just excited to share this with the Eau Claire public."

Soft openings will be held this week with a grand opening set for next Monday, May 9th.
