Rice Lake man recognized for U.S. Army service

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) A Rice Lake man is recognized for his service and achievement in the U.S. Army.

Wednesday afternoon Bruce Fredrickson was presented with the Legion of Merit Award for outstanding service in the armed forces.

Fredrickson received the award at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire from his commanding officer.

Through his career Fredrickson has served in the Marine Corps, he has also worked as a drill instructor and and infantry officer before becoming an army champlain and starting his career at Mayo Clinic Health System.

"All of those experiences unquestionably have had a large impact on my hospital ministry as well all those experiences dealing with those families and crisis situations has had an impact on my ministry as well," says Fredrickson.

During a speech at Wednesday's awards ceremony Frederickson thanked everyone for their support and also took time to recognize other military members for their service.
