Wis. LGBT Chamber of Commerce hosts launch event

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Members and supporters of the Chippewa Valley's LGBT community came together this evening to talk business.

It was for the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce's Chippewa Valley happy hour launch event at The Lounge in Eau Claire.

The chamber says it is an organization of LGBT-owned and allied businesses, corporations and professionals throughout the state of Wisconsin.

Jason Rae, the Executive Director of the chamber says after about 20 events around the state, it was about time to introduce themselves to business leaders in the Chippewa Valley.

"One of the things that we find at the chamber is we get a call a day or so from those who are looking to do business with those that share their values. So we really wanted to do this launch here in Eau Claire tonight and really kind of tell people, we exist, we're here and we want to be a resource and work together to grow a stronger business community."

Rae says 113 businesses statewide have joined the chamber since it was started last year.
