Blugolds prepare for season opener against Bethel

The UW-Eau Claire football team kicks off a new season this Saturday when the Blugolds host Bethel College of Tennessee under the lights at Carson Park. Head coach Todd Glaser says his team will have several new faces on both sides of the ball, players ready to make an impact.
Todd Glaser/Blugolds Head Football Coach: "We got some guys who stepped up and we'll see on Saturday, that's really the test. I think the older guys who have come back from last year's team have gotten better and played better and led us and the younger kids who are stepping up into positions that we have lost, hopefully will do well, have had a good camp and we're ready to play somebody different. That's kind of what we want, get better with every game and we feel we have a very good non-conference schedule leading off with Bethel, they're a physical team and very athletic, going to have to play mistake free football to be in the game. So we're excited to go out and try to get better as a football team and it's one thing practicing, another thing playing."
