Eau Claire, WI (WEAU-ECSD Press Release) -- North High School announced today that Todd Marks has been hired as Head Boys Basketball Coach.
Marks is a Fall Creek High School graduate where played for Ron Schultz and Mike Johnson while garnering All-Conference, All-
Northwest, and All-State recognition. His collegiate career began at UW-Platteville under the direction of Bo Ryan where he was
a member of the 1996-1997 WIAC championship team that was ranked #1 in the nation. Marks completed his playing career at
UW-Eau Claire under Terry Gibbons where he was a member of the 1999-2000 team that went 27-6 and finished as National
Division III runner-up. He was also a member of the 2000-2001 Blugold squad that claimed the WIAC tournament championship
and qualified for the National Division III tournament.
Marks spent 10 years as Head Coach, from 2004-2014, at Bloomer High School. The Blackhawk program finished as either
conference champion or conference runner-up in 4 of his last 5 seasons at the helm including an undefeated Heart O’ North
championship in 2011-2012. Additionally, the program was recognized as Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)
Team Academic All-State in 2011, 2012, and 2014. In 2013, Marks was also selected as head coach for the Division 3 North as
part of the WBCA All-Star game.
This past season, Marks served as an Assistant Coach for Jeff Boos at Sun Prairie High School. The Cardinals finished the year
with a 14-10 overall record while competing in the highly respected Big 8 conference before falling in a Division 1 regional title
game to Madison Memorial 41-39.
Marks commented, “I would like to thank the entire administrative team and everyone involved in the interview process. Their
professionalism was unwavering throughout the entire progression. It is vividly clear that Eau Claire North is a first-class
organization. The commitment and support have been overwhelming.”
Marks continued, “I am truly humbled, grateful, and honored for this tremendous opportunity; my family and I are elated to
become part of the Eau Claire North community. Furthermore, I am well aware of the rich legacy the North Boys’ Basketball
Program represents. I am very eager to commence this journey, and I greatly look forward to discussions with coaching staff,
student-athletes, parents, and supporters from our youth program through the high school level.”
Marks concluded, “Our goal is to develop a program based on accountability, passion, humility, integrity, and communication.
These core values will address academic, social, and athletic importance and significance. We will immediately begin establishing
the cornerstones of our program as we shape a clear identity for Eau Claire North Boys’ Basketball. We will place a premium on
great effort, enthusiasm, and a definitive sense of purpose. This purpose will specifically reflect a strong-willed defensive
mentality and an offensive system that endorses transitioning for opportunity, sharing the basketball, and valuing the
importance of every possession.”

In addition to his basketball coaching responsibilities, Mr. Marks will be teaching English at Memorial and North High Schools.
