Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Medical Examiner investigate suspicious death

OSCEOLA, Wis. (WEAU) - Deputies performing a welfare check found one person dead in a home in rural Osceola.

According to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, it responded to a welfare check request on Jan. 22 at about 9:30 p.m. at a home in the town of Farmington in rural Osceola. When deputies arrived, they found a deceased victim.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Mobile Crime Lab assisted in processing the home as a crime scene.

There is no active threat to the community.

The case is active and remains under investigation.

The release says that the name of the victim and the suspect will be released at a later time.
