Arbor Place breaks ground on new addiction treatment center
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - There was a groundbreaking today on a new $5.9 million project to help those battling addiction in western Wisconsin.
Arbor Place, a longstanding provider for substance use disorder in Menomonie, broke ground on a new treatment unit specifically for pregnant and parenting women.
Arbor Place is the only treatment center specifically for mothers in the region.
Executive Director Jill Gamez said this project has been a long time coming.
“It’s been a longstanding barrier. If you had to choose between treatment and leaving or possibly losing your kids, you probably wouldn’t get the treatment you needed,” she said.
Gamez said the new treatment unit will include 20 beds for women and children, along with designated spaces for childcare.
It’s expected to be completed in one year.
