To Chippewa Valley residents,
In every community, there are moments of impactful change. When St. Joseph Hospital closed its doors, it created a ripple effect, leaving many of us reflecting on the importance of accessible health care. We’ve heard your stories—of challenges you’ve faced to find timely care and the desire for a health care partner who truly understands your needs.
Three short months ago, Aspirus Health announced our commitment to stand by you and ensure that excellent, compassionate care is available for you and your loved ones for many years to come.
We are looking forward to bringing a new health care facility to Chippewa Falls to address the urgent needs left by recent closures, providing accessible primary care, emergency services and inpatient care.
As we continue to work closely with local officials and residents to advance our plan, we write this letter, the first in a two-part series, to share additional details with you.
A convenient location coming soon to you
We’re dedicated to making a new location easily accessible so you can receive the care you need, when you need it. We recently purchased a site north of Chippewa Crossing Boulevard, near Highway 29.
We’re excited to share that we plan to open the doors to a new Aspirus care facility in 18 months or sooner, ready to welcome you and your loved ones.
Care you can rely on in the future
Providing health care, especially in rural areas, has become increasingly complex and challenging.
Following the departure of HSHS, local providers made great efforts to fill the gap. Aspirus quickly responded by expanding service capacity in Stanley and Medford, and we continue to serve Chippewa Valley residents at these and other locations.
Conversations with your community leaders revealed a deeper need for services, inspiring us to build a facility in Chippewa Falls.
Our commitment is to ensure convenient access to high-quality care for you and your families, rooted in a progressive, sustainable approach that meets your needs for generations to come.
To have the kind of care you can count on in the future, Chippewa Falls and neighboring communities need a reliable health care partner with demonstrated expertise in navigating the changing and challenging environment.
Strength of a system you can trust
At Aspirus, we know how to provide health care for communities like Chippewa Falls. Our headquarters are located down the road in Wausau and our 14,000 dedicated team members operate 18 hospitals and more than 130 clinics in places like Medford, Antigo, Wisconsin Rapids, Woodruff, Rhinelander and Eagle River.
We understand what it takes to recruit and retain experts to Wisconsin, how to effectively share the cost of expensive platforms and technologies across our integrated system, utilize resources wisely, and leverage state and federal programs designed for rural areas. And we provide compassionate, high-quality care.
By bringing these strengths and resources from our integrated system, we can ensure that your health care needs are consistently met without compromise. We are confident that we are the right partner to help meet the health care pressures of the future and match services to evolving local needs.
We’re here for your future
To us, it’s not about just building a facility; it’s about building a thriving community. Our mission at Aspirus is to heal people, promote health and strengthen communities. We want to create a place where you feel valued and heard—where our care team knows your name and your story.
As we advance our plan, we are committed to listening to your needs. Together, we can turn a moment of change into a brighter future, one of growth and healing.
Thank you for welcoming us as partners in this journey.
