22-year-old Beaver Dam woman killed in wrong way crash

TOWNSHIP OF ELBA, Wis. (WMTV) - A 22-year-old woman from Beaver Dam is dead and multiple others are hurt after a wrong way crash Friday night.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, someone reported a vehicle driving the wrong way on US Highway 151 at about 11:04 p.m.

One minute later, authorities received a call saying the vehicle going southbound in the northbound lanes near State Highway 73 crashed into another vehicle head-on.

A 2005 Toyota Rav4 was traveling southbound on US Highway 151 in the northbound lanes when it crashed with a 2019 Toyota Corolla that was traveling northbound then rolled several times, according to preliminary investigations.

A 22-year-old woman from Beaver Dam was driving the 2005 Toyota Rav4 with two 17-year-old female passengers.

The 22-year-old died at the scene of the crash due to injuries and the two teenagers were taken to hospitals in Columbus and Madison with serious injuries, according to authorities.

A 37-year-old woman from Fond du Lac was the driver of the other vehicle in the crash and the only person inside the 2019 Corolla. She was taken to Prairie Ridge Hospital in Columbus with non-life threatening inquires.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash, including the Dodge County Emergency Response Team, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department, the Fall River Police Department, the Columbia County Highway Department, the Columbus Fire Department, Lifestar EMS, and the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
